Reducing Parental Conflict – City

9th February 2023 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Reducing Parental Conflict Workshop

Some degree of arguing and conflict between parents is a normal part of life for most. But when is this too much and what can you do as a practitioner?

Frequent, intense and poorly resolved conflict can have a lasting and negative effect on children’s mental health, behaviour and long-term life chances. But offering support at the right time and in the right way can improve outcomes for everyone involved.

Join us for our 2.5 hour session that explores how to recognise signs of parental conflict in the early stages, where domestic abuse is not present. Learn how to help parents find constructive outcomes, which has also been shown to provide positive lessons for children in negotiation and compromise.

By the end of this 2.5 hour workshop you will:

• Have an improved awareness of parental conflict

• Have an improved understanding of the differences between domestic abuse and parental conflict

• Have an improved awareness of work in Nottingham City on reducing parental conflict

• Have access to information and resources on further training and tools

Prerequisites:

It is recommended that participants have completed Understanding and Responding to Domestic Violence and Abuse (Remote) – available to book through Equation

Cancellation

Please note failure to attend the course without prior cancellation may result in a charge for your place. If you do wish to cancel, you can do so through your Eventbrite confirmation or by getting in touch with our team at training@equation.org.uk.
