Briefing details:

It is recommended practice for Nottingham City practitioners to utilize additional risk considerations when risk assessing LGBT+ survivors. The current risk assessment process for all people experiencing domestic abuse is through the DASH RIC (Domestic Abuse Stalking Harassment Risk Indicator Checklist), it is recognized, however, that for some survivors there will be additional risk considerations. This briefing session explores additional risk factors and considerations for LGBT+ people experiencing domestic abuse.  The aims are:

  • To introduce additional risk considerations for LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse
  • To explore how these can be utilized alongside the DASH RIC
  • To improve understanding of the needs of LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse

Please note:  This session is not a general training on Domestic Abuse in Same Sex relationships and will assume an understanding of DASH RIC and MARAC. This briefing session will be of most benefit to workers who have already completed Domestic Abuse Training and DASH RIC/MARAC training or have a prior understanding of DASH RIC and the MARAC process.  It will not provide training on DASH RIC specifically.

Please note this briefing will not cover legal issues or complexities.

Prerequisites : None

NB. Resources and evaluation forms for this training will be sent digitally to you after the event.
