Guidance for Professionals

Equation is recognised nationally for our expertise in training delivery, resource development and best practice guidance for frontline professionals and other workers who come into contact with people experiencing domestic abuse.

Whether you’re a domestic abuse specialist or work in another community setting, Equation can develop your skills in spotting the signs of abuse, assessing and supporting survivors, and responding to perpetrators. We primarily support professionals in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, but deliver our resources and training sessions across the country.

Professional curiosity – stay curious

Professional curiosity is about exploring and understanding what is happening with a family, a child or an adult. It’s about not accepting a situation as it appears, especially if it doesn’t feel right.

This video explains why it’s so important in preventing death due to domestic abuse.
