Description

On 29/04/2021 The Domestic Abuse Bill was passed by Houses of Parliament and signed into law. The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 will provide further protections to the millions of people who experience domestic abuse and strengthen measures to tackle perpetrators. The Crime Survey for England and Wales found that in the year ending March 2019, 2.4 million adults experienced domestic abuse, indicating the scale of the issue. As part of the Act, a new Statutory Duty is placed on local authorities in England to provide support to victims of domestic abuse and their children in refuges and other safe accommodation.

The purpose of this Needs Assessment is to assess the need for support in the Local Authority area for all victims of Domestic Abuse in relevant safe accommodation.
