Who are we?
Equation is an award-winning and innovative charity dedicated to preventing and responding to domestic and sexual abuse.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for Trustees to join our Management Committee and work with an existing team of 9 experienced Trustees. In particular, we’d welcome those with a finance or strategic background or knowledge and experience of Human Resources. We always want to ensure the management committee is representative of the communities we work with, particularly in terms of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 or in terms of personal / professional experience of domestic abuse.
As part of the committee, you will have oversight of all aspects of Equation’s operations & governance with a shared responsibility to safeguard the organisation’s interests and further the charity’s objectives. More information about the responsibilities of a Trustee, can be found here: Charity trustee: what’s involved (CC3a) – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Why us?
You will be joining the charity during an exciting period of growth and development and will have a key role in shaping the future direction of the organisation. Information about Equation can be found on our website – What We Do | Equation
What commitment do we expect from a Trustee?
If you have some spare time, are motivated, creative and like working positively to support others, this a great opportunity for you to make a positive and meaningful impact. Trustees are asked to attend Board meetings and join one sub-committee, meeting once a quarter for each. In addition to this, it is expected that a Trustee would engage in an area of the organization to add valuable oversight and engage with staff.
There is a short application form to complete so we can understand your motivation behind applying for the role and the experience you will bring. More details and the application form can be found by following the link below. If you require any additional information before applying, please contact Raina Mason, Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees at Raina@equation.org.uk
