RECLAIM THE NIGHT NOTTINGHAM IS BACK – SPREAD THE WORD ✨✊
A women-only* protest march will stomp, sing, dance and shout its way through Nottingham City Centre on Saturday October 19th 2024 to reclaim our streets and make a stand against violence against women.
You don’t need a ticket to attend, but we recommend signing up for one so you can receive important information and updates directly to your inbox. You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter to keep up-to-date.
There will be other activities happening which we will be announcing soon. They’re great opportunities to get yourself in the mood for the march, meet like-minded women, and wind down afterwards. You can get involved in as much or as little as you like, and it’s all free! Find out more below.
* All women are welcome – we are a trans-inclusive march. We also welcome anyone who has experienced misogynistic oppression – we know that some non-binary and gender non-conforming people have faced similar forms of discrimination and may wish to march with us too. Accompanied children of all genders are welcome to the march.
Timings and Route
We will be gathering in Sneinton Market from 6pm. We will be sharing further details soon to those who sign up via eventbrite and on our social media channels.
Why do we march?
- We march to demand an end to sexual assault, rape, and all forms of men’s violence and harassment against women and girls.
- We march to demand an end to the victim-blaming of women who experience sexual assault, rape, violence and harassment
- We march to reclaim our streets and take back our spaces and to say that we have a right to access them without any fear
- A mass of women pounding the streets together sends a message to our leaders that citizens, residents and voters care about women’s safety.
- Walking in solidarity and safety with your noisy sisters is good for your spirits. Regain your energy by sticking it to the patriarchy!
