Location: Microsoft Teams

About this event

Welcome to our second Domestic Abuse & Technology Practitioners’ Network event. This three-hour session with aim to equip you with information, knowledge, and guidance on the use of technology as part of domestic abuse, known as ‘tech abuse’. This is a practice and tech-focused network event for helping you to build skills for supporting survivors with regards to tech abuse.

We know that the use of technology is evolving so fast that it is hard to keep up to date. We want this to be an interactive space where you can easily access and understand information about tech abuse as this is posing a new risk for survivors with the countless ways technology can enable a perpetrator to coerce and control.

This interactive event will be led by our guest speaker, Kirsty Jackson, and supported by Mark Lonsdale, both from Nottinghamshire Police. The session will provide you with:

-A focus on the ways perpetrators can track and monitor survivors online through various tools and devices

– Information and knowledge on hacked accounts or devices and how survivors can protect themselves

– Practical information around social media vulnerabilities and social media behaviours of perpetrators

– Information around the security of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and search histories

– A number of interactive discussions to look at how to put this knowledge into practice

– Opportunities for questions and answers

Please note that you can only sign up and join this event with your work email address, and must provide detail of your role and organisation in order to book onto the session.

To ensure you are contacted about future events, subscribe to our tech abuse newsletter through our website by ticking the ‘Domestic abuse and technology’ box under email preferences.
