Non-Domestic Abuse Stalking Awareness

Price: Free to anyone working or volunteering in Nottingham city and county

Date: Choose from the dates below

Location: Online

Duration: 2.5 hours

Stalking is a pattern of persistent and unwanted behaviour from someone, that makes a person feel threatened or scared. It happens when a person becomes fixated or obsessed with someone and it’s a criminal offence. Stalking can be subtle and hard to recognise or explain and it can feel as though it will never stop and it can happen to anyone.

Our 2.5 hour training session will equip you to support someone experiencing stalking that isn’t happening as part domestic abuse. The session is for anyone who might have contact with someone experiencing it as part of their work.

Takeaways

After this session you’ll know

  • The various ways stalking takes place and the impact it can have
  • What motivates stalkers
  • What to look out for, the risks and what prevents people from seeking help
  • What the law says about stalking
  • How to respond and help someone using best practice resources and tools
  • Where else to refer someone impacted by stalking
