Equation’s award-winning Reel Equality Film Club is a volunteer-led club which shows great movies that tell women-centred stories and challenge gender stereotypes.
Role Description
You’ll be joining a pre-existing team of volunteers to share responsibilities for:
- Generating ideas for screening events that appeal to wide-ranging adult audiences while raising awareness of sexism on screen.
- Generating ideas for screening events that appeal to younger audiences and raise awareness of healthy relationships.
- Developing screening programmes and activities relevant to the awareness-raising objectives.
- Develop links with relevant community groups and networks
- Research and booking venues
- Identify and liaise with potential speakers, performers and other event collaborators
- Create and organise promotion in print and online, assisting with digital marketing as required, including email, google ads, social media management.
- Support delivery of screening events, including making up give away / sale items, welcoming attendees and engaging them with event activities and safeguarding.

Volunteers will gain experience in event co-ordination, marketing and promotion.
The role is flexible in hours and location making it easy to be involved if you are looking for a position to fit around your schedule.
