County Safe Accommodation Support & Outreach Worker
- Location: Equation office (Nottingham City) and Local Authority Housing Offices across Nottinghamshire.
- Salary: £25,117 – £27,471 pa. Pro-rata for job share
- Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Fixed Term until 31 March 2027
What we’re looking for
Male and LGBTQ+ survivors face additional barriers to disclosing domestic abuse, as well as accessing meaningful support and safe accommodation after fleeing so we’re seeking a Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Support and Outreach Worker to work alongside Equation’s specialist services for men and LGBTQ+ and support people who are experiencing domestic abuse in Nottinghamshire County.
If you have experience working within housing and homelessness, social care settings or with survivors of domestic abuse, and are passionate about making an impact, we would love to hear from you.
Join our innovative team here at Equation, an award-winning Nottinghamshire-based charity dedicated to preventing and addressing domestic abuse.
About the role
As part of our team, you’ll support survivors experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity to live their lives free from abuse. You’ll do this by:
- Providing support with risk assessments, safety planning, and navigating the criminal justice system.
- Advocating for survivors’ needs, providing advice and promoting best practice in service delivery.
- Facilitating safe accommodation support for survivors, through Local Authority Housing Teams and other relevant partner agencies, and forging partnerships with these agencies
- Supporting consultations with the community to enhance understanding of domestic abuse and housing needs.
- Raising awareness about domestic abuse services for men and LGBTQ+ people through collaboration, events, resource distribution, and training sessions.
A thorough induction into the role and domestic abuse will be provided to the successful applicant, so experience in domestic abuse is not a requirement. However, you must have a current driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel across the county is a requirement of the role. Expenses will be paid for travel.
What we offer
- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, with additional long service entitlements (pro rata)
- Clinical supervision is available for all front life staff
- Free annual eye test
- Flexible and hybrid working
- Sick pay, compassionate leave and special leave
- Expenses and mileage paid
- Progression opportunities
