Toolkits for teachers and professionals
Our toolkits give teachers and other professionals working with children and young people everything they need to deliver healthy relationships education themselves, backed by Equation’s expertise. Each toolkit includes full session plans, materials and training, so you can run it with confidence in your own setting.
Choosing the right toolkit
Equation currently offer two toolkits:
• GREAT Connections — a whole-school, whole-class resource for primary schools (Years 1–6), delivered by teachers.
• My Connections — a targeted, 1:1 resource for secondary-age young people (Years 7–11) already using harmful behaviour in their relationships, delivered by a trained professional.

Frequently asked questions
Professionals and teachers often have questions about our toolkits so we have collated the ones asked most often below.
I am a teacher, do I need any special training to deliver a toolkit ourselves?
No specialist qualification is needed for GREAT Connections — it’s designed to be completely teacher-led, with full session plans, slides and printables provided. My Connections includes training as part of the package, since it involves working 1:1 with a young person using harmful behaviour, and we’d want to make sure whoever delivers it feels confident and supported first.
Is there a toolkit for children younger than Year 1, or older than Year 11?
Our current toolkits cover Years 1 to 6 (GREAT Connections) and Years 7 to 11 (My Connections). For early years settings, we offer separate training and guidance rather than a toolkit — see our early years page. We can also offer bespoke work for year 11 and older. Please get in touch.
How much does each toolkit cost, and what does that cover?
Costs can vary depending on if there is subsidised funding in place for your area, so please contact us directly to discuss.
Can GREAT Connections be delivered outside of a whole-school week?
Yes. It’s designed ideally as a whole-school project delivered across a week, with a different topic each day, but it can also be delivered independently by individual classes or year groups if that suits your setting better.
Can the toolkits be adapted for pupils with SEND, or for smaller settings?
Yes they can, please get in touch to speak with the team about an adapted and bespoke offer.
What should we do if a safeguarding concern comes up while delivering a toolkit?
Follow your school or organisation’s usual safeguarding procedure. If you need to talk it through, our team is here Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm excluding bank holidays.
